Who’s Who

Amanda Ortega (Playwright/Lilly) is a first year Strawberry Festival participant and South Florida native. She earned her BFA from Florida International University. Amanda has written multiple plays that have been featured in Micro Theater Miami. Her solo piece 110 was featured at the first annual Ft. Lauderdale Fringe Festival. Past credits include: Terry Vitale in Tony & Tina’s Wedding (Broward Center), Cassius in Julius Caesar (Gables Stage), and Dorothy Foxton in Murdered to Death (Evening Star). Aly Pentangelo (Director/Stage Manager) is from South Florida and currently lives in NYC. Aly graduated with her B.A. in theatre from Nova Southeastern University. Previously she studied acting at Marymount Manhattan College and Broward College. Some performance credits include: Casper the Not so Friendly Ghost (Strawberry One Act Festival), Fuerza Bruta (Daryl Roth Theatre), Spring Awakening (Main Street Playhouse), & Swipe Right (NYC Fringe). Previous director credits include: Baby Food (NSU Black Box) and Soulmates (New Theatre).

A romantic comedy with a twist.  It’s a short play about a young single woman Lily rushing to meet her first “normal” match.com date, but her plans come to a screeching halt when she gets stuck in an elevator with a man she wants nothing to do with.  This cute story makes you realize your match might be closer than you think, you just have to pay a little more attention.  Your match might be closer than you think, you just have to pay a little more attention.
