Submissions for Plays
for the Strawberry Theatre Festival ON DEMAND
The Riant Theatre is now accepting submissions of Videotaped
performances of NEW PLAYS as well as plays selected from our anthologies of THE
BEST PLAYS FROM THE STRAWBERRY ONE-ACT FESTIVAL (Volumes 1-8).
- Deadline to Email Us your submission is March 15, 2016
- There is NO FEE to Submit
a Play to the Festival.
- All plays must be
performed and videotaped and emailed to us at RiantTheatre@gmail.com.
You can send us the digital file of your play via Dropbox or
Wetransfer.com
- All plays will be uploaded
to our website for viewing ON DEMAND.
- On May 15, 2016 the play with the Best
Performance will win $1,000.
- The top 6 plays will be
invited to perform their play in the NYC Strawberry One-Act Festival between July 14th - July 30, 2016 at
the Theatre at St. Clement’s, located on 46th Street in
Manhattan.
- Our Awards Ceremony will
be on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Theatre at St. Clement’s. Awards will be given out for Best Play,
Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Set Design, Best Sound
Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Costumes and Best Revival of a Play.

Best Revival of a
Play Competition:
- There is NO FEE to Submit
a Play to the Festival.
- Deadline to submit your videotaped performance of the play is
MARCH 15, 2016.
- Simply select a play from
one of our 8 anthologies of THE BEST PLAYS FROM THE STRAWBERRY ONE ACT
FESTIVAL. There are over 100 plays
to choose from. You can buy an
anthology from our website at https://www.therianttheatre.com/index.php?n=books
- Get a director and cast
the play you have chosen and rehearse the play. When you are ready videotape the performance
of the play either in a studio or theatre in front of a live audience or
without an audience.
- Include open credits of
the play with the NAME OF THE PLAY and NAME OF THE PLAYWRIGHT &
DIRECTOR. Also, include end credits
with the CAST IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE along with the crew and designers,
etc.
- Email the videotaped
performance of the play via Dropbox or WeTransfer.com to RiantTheatre@gmail.com
- Email us at RiantTheatre@gmail.com to receive
our Release Form so you can
have all of your artists (actors and performers) sign it, giving consent
for all them to appear in the Strawberry Theatre Festival On Demand.
- Any music you use in your play, if any, you must have the Rights to use it. Proof of permission to use any music in your show must be submitted along with your Release Form to us at RiantTheatre@gmail.com.
- Once we receive your
submission we will confirm that it has been accepted into the festival and
we will let you know when it is available for viewing online ON DEMAND. The DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR VIDEOTAPED
PERFORMANCE is March 15, 2016.
- Our Industry Judges of
Theatre Professionals will view all the submissions and on May 15, 2016 an
announcement will be made and The Best Revival of a Play will receive a
cash prize of $1,000 and an invitation to perform at the NYC Strawberry
One-Act Festival between July 14th – July 30, 2016 at the
Theatre at St. Clement’s on 46th Street in Manhattan, NYC.
- The top 6 Plays will be
invited to perform in the NYC Strawberry One-Act Festival between July 14th
– July 30, 2016.
The Best New Play in
the Strawberry Theatre Festival ON DEMAND:
- There is NO FEE to submit
your play.
- Deadline to submit your videotaped performance of your play is
MARCH 15, 2016.
- The play can have a
running time of 15-30 minutes or 40-90 minutes.
- Get a director, cast your
play, and rehearse it. When you are
ready, videotape a performance of the play either in a studio or theatre
in front of a live audience or without an audience.
- Include opening credits of
the play with the NAME OF THE PLAY and NAME OF THE PLAYWRIGHT &
DIRECTOR. Also, include the end
credits with the CAST IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE along with the crew and designers,
