A happenstance seaside meeting forces two strangers into a tumultuous exploration of fear and loss. Together they must decide to experience the unknown or be forever petrified by it.

Place:  A summer afternoon on the quiet side of a beach.

Who’s Who…

Maggie Brill (PETRIFIED LIGHTNING) is a New York-based actor and dramatist. She’s a graduate of Columbia University and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She studied playwriting under Broadway playwright, Jeremy Kareken. Her plays have been performed at numerous festivals throughout the Tri-state area. Her one-act play, Johnny Be Good, was a semi-finalist at Manhattan Repertory Theatre’s Summer Play Celebration. She has been performing professionally onstage for nearly twenty-five years. Her credits include Desdemona in Othello (Elsewhere, BK), Alexis in Permanent Solution (Shetler Studios), and Lenore in The Astonished Heart (Miller Theatre). She’s also appeared in film and television, including the award-winning indie film Heartland. She currently studies Meisner Technique at The William Esper Studio under Barbara Marchant. She’d like to dedicate Petrified Lightning to her late mother, Pamela Brill, who taught her the importance of living with passion and purpose.

Jacob S. Louchheim (DIRECTOR/ACTOR) is an actor, singer and director in New York City. He most recently portrayed Ichabod Crane in The Sleepy Hollow Experience in Old Sturbridge. He also directed and performed in Life: a Silverglass Production  off-Broadway at The Players Theatre. He was nominated for a 2019 Suzi Bass Award for Outstanding Actor for his portrayal of Tateh in Ragtime at the Serenbe Playhouse. He was also nominated for Best Actor in a Musical by Broadway World New Jersey in 2018 for playing Tateh in Luis Salgado’s Ragtime at the Axelrod PAC. Jacob is a graduate of the SITI Company conservatory training program, where he starred in Chuck Mee’s Adam and Evie. He holds a bachelor's degree in Drama Studies with a minor in Vocal Operatic Performance from SUNY Purchase. You can find out even more about Jacob at www.JacobLouchheim.com
