Who’s Who . . .

John F. Sarno (Charles) has acted in over 40 plays, five short films, and one episode of Law and Order.  He received two regional Best Actor awards.  In the 2016 Strawberry Festival, he portrayed David Crockett in Crockett’s Last Stand.  John is also a playwright and a screenwriter.  Seven of his plays have been produced around the country, and two screenplays have been optioned.  One floats face down in a swimming pool off Sunset Boulevard, John spent his formative years in Indianapolis, Indiana - spitting distance from the railroad tracks.

Kris Doscher (Michelle) is certainly no stranger to the stage,  Though her heart lies in front of the camera, Kris has lent herself to three original staged roles and is a proud graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.  Most recently you can find her on the small screen in Investigation Discovery’s Evil Lives Here and the new pilot Primal Instincts.  Kris’ latest short film premiered at last years Sundance Film Festival and this Summer you can catch her lighting up the big screen in her feature film debut, Weight alongside some of her favorite 90’s icons.  Keep an eye out for her new web-series, Beeotch which begins production next month.  www.krisdoscher.com

Kinga Nowak (Woman on Observation Deck) is delighted to be part of Just Like The Movies.  Her recent credits include the role of Kim and Angela in The Last Session by Holly Provance as part of the Hudson Guild’s Winter Festival.

Scott Haskell (Man on Observation Deck) has appeared in film, television, and theatre and has studied acting at NYU.  He has recently appeared in The Lady of the Hall with the Gingerbread Players, and in I Remember Mama at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Peter Scarpinato (Playwright) has been performing in productions throughout New York for over 30 years.  He recently decided to study directing and directed his first play in a one act festival in 2017.  This experience motivated him to finally put one of his play ideas on paper. Just Like The Movies is his first play and he is thrilled to have it be part of the Strawberry Festival.

Johnny Culver (Director) is the managing director of New York’s Equity Library Theater, which presents a semi-annual festival of new short plays by American writers, in association with the New York Public Library.  Favorite New York roles: Emmett in Keeping Up Appearances (US Premiere), Clinton Preminger in Nude with Violin, Heck Tate in To Kill A Mockingbird, Mr. Jackson in Talking Pictures. He has directed students of HB Studios, AADA and Circle in the Square Theater School. His plays have been performed in New York Texas and Philadelphia.
