Who’s Who

Vanessa Elise (Roxy) holds a BFA in Theatre from New World School of the Arts. She is the recipient of a Silver Palm Award and received a Carbonell nomination for her work in Michael McKeever’s World Premier, “Clark Gable Slept Here”. Elise is also the Artistic Director of the Fort Lauderdale Fringe Festival, which is entering it’s second year. She has been a part of the “Reality Sucks” cast from the very beginning and could not imagine a better place for this journey to have led. Love and thanks to her friends and family for their support, especially her mother, Carmen. —“Love you more, Mommy!”

 
Charles Sothers (Rob) is blessed to perform “Reality Sucks” again with this talented cast! Selected credits: Damn Yankees (Rocky), [title of show] (Hunter), Guys and Dolls (Big Jule), West Side Story (Bernardo), King Lear (Duke of Albany). Studied improvisation at the Workshop of the Second City in Chicago; Grotowski method; tap, jazz, ballet. Has worked in voice-overs and children’s musicals with Roxy Productions. Co-founded and is current Theatre Arts Director at the Roxy Theatre Group, a Miami non-profit specializing in performing arts training for kids 3 to 17 years old.

Daniel Gil (Frank/Peter) is ecstatic to be participating in this festival as Frank in "Reality Sucks!" Past credits include the world premiere of "Leveling Up" at New Theatre, and his original one-person show, "Would I Lie To You" in Miami, amongst many others.  He thanks his family and wife for always supporting his madness that is theater and would also like to thank his incredibly talented cast mates and the Strawberry Festival for making this piece a timeless comedy!

 
 
 
Sonia Cordoves (Sacha) not only wrote Reality Sucks, but is excited to be part of this fabulous cast.  Her past credits include Madame Karmura (Violeta), Laca (Velma Von Tussle), Deb Wars  (Cuca)  Life Imitates Art  (Celeste)  Miami’s Finest (Celeste) and Duet Again (Ms. Aurora). She’s also Aunt Cristina in a nationally televised Kroger commercial and has an infomercial for Abee Med.  She cannot wait to present her Play in this amazing Festival and would like to thank her family, friends and cast members for being part of her dream.  
Stephanie Sandoval (Director) ­­is an actress and director currently located in New York City.  Prior to making her way to the Big Apple, Stephanie began her career in the theatre from the tropical paraside of Miami, Florida.  She received her BFA in Theatre Performance from Florida International University.  Her directing credits include Swimming in the Shallows as DA, Bachelorette by Leslye Headland, Little Shop of Horrors, and Charcoal – her one-woman show based on the life of Louise Brooks.  Stephanie is beyond excited to be a part of bringing Miami magic to NYC.

  1. They were so accommodating and I was truly impressed. It is such a comfortable environment. For a buffet, it was delicious food. Alcoholic beverages at Chicago event venues were also great. Overall, this place is great, and my favorite venue in the city.
